Late Fall and Winter months often bring periods of weather called a “thermal inversion” where cold air is trapped in valleys below inversion clouds. They can last for weeks on end and being under the clouds is dreary and miserable! This morning I ventured above the clouds before sunrise and was greeted by this spectacular sunrise on Mt Hood. Notice the inversion clouds flowing down a valley as if they were a river. Photographed from Lookout Mountain area. This panorama is made from 17 vertical frames which makes this print extremely high resolution and finely detailed at large sizes.
