Being outside in nature, watching sunrises & sunsets, standing by the waters edge- all help us marvel at God’s creation and reveal His glory 🙌
Especially in moments like this when the sun alignment works out just perfectly amongst the hillsides of the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon & Washington. This one really caught me by surprise on March 7, 2026. It was a long day working and doing home projects- at the end of the day we just wanted to get out for a bit- so my family and I loaded up the van and ended up parking here at “The Hook”. I had a hunch the sun alignment would be close, but my app showed it would set further South behind the hillsides of Oregon on this evening. To my surprise, the app was so very wrong! The moment when the sun moved into view from behind the hillside was just divine. Several others were in the area and everyone stopped their activities, conversations, and just marveled at the glory revealed! Captured with a long 30 second exposure on tripod which adds a bit of motion to the frame, but remains a still moment of light and glory revealed. I absolutely love witnessing and capturing these glorious moments outside!
